Police  arrested nine members of a gang of robbers with domestic weapons while preparing for a robbery in Narayanganj's Sonargaon. They were arrested in front of Chaiti Composite Garments in the Tripardi area of ​​the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sonargaon at midnight on Wednesday.  Police recovered from them a sharp weapon, a sword, two chisels, a cutter and a machete. Police also seized a blue pickup van and six mobile phones used in the robbery.

The arrestee had been identified as Kaushar, 23, son of Shahid of Goaldi area of ​​Sonargaon police station, Sharif, 25, son of Anwar Hossain of Pratapnagar village of Kadirganj, Jasim, 23, son of Enayet Ullah, Shobel Mia, 26, son of Sonai Mia, tenant of Jamal's house in Goaldi area. Sunny, 19, son of Joynal, Vijay, 24, son of Jamal of Goaldi area, Jewel, 19, son of Shah Alam of Masura Kanda area, Nazir Islam, 20, son of Ismail of Nilkanda Namapara area and Rocky, 25, son of Hazrat Ali of Hamchadi area. Sonargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Hafizur Rahman confirmed the arrest, and said  the arrested robbers were trying to rob different places on the highway with pick-up vans ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. A case has been filed against them and sent to them to the  court.
